Medicine, Long says, cannot account for the consistencies in the accounts reported by people all over the world. He talked to TIME about the nature of near-death experience, the intersection between religion and science and the Oprah effect.
  Evidence of the Afterlife - could be a neat book to read, if only for the stories. Always fun to hear all the different explanations for why things happen.

    This isn't a different explanation at all - he's just saying "The answer's obvious; there must be an afterlife!"
