Feminism 2.0, the conference, will bring together the leadership of major women’s advocacy organizations and online women’s communities, to further the connection between the experience, knowledge, real-world grassroots networks and online tools of women’s advocacy organizations with the powerful and growing communities of women online.
Post-conference, it will harness the power of women on the Internet to promote women’s issues and to create a forum for women to discuss the issues that are of most concern to them today. It will encourage them to use the Internet to learn more, express their opinions, and advocate for policies that benefit women and families
“U.S. Congress should direct and fund the Department of Health and Human Services to establish an Office of Maternal Health.” Projections show that improving the standard of care could prevent close to 50 percent of deaths.
Birthright carefully and lovingly engages a diverse group of mothers who collectively narrate the many joys, burdens, and complexities of motherhood as shaped by race, class, sexuality, and desire.

To assess the effect of alcohol only, researchers adjusted for other factors that are known to influence weight, such as smoking, body mass index, age, non-alcohol dietary intake and physical activity. They found that compared with women who abstained from alcohol entirely, women who drank 15 to 30 grams a day -- the equivalent of a drink or two -- were 30% less likely to be overweight or obese at the end of the study period.
