The right’s answer, of course, is that it’s about outrage over President Obama’s “socialist” policies — like his health care plan, which is, um, more or less identical to the plan Mitt Romney enacted in Massachusetts. Many on the left argue, instead, that it’s about race, the shock of having a black man in the White House — and there’s surely something to that.

More intellectual dishonesty from that loathsome toad Krugman. He knows damn well that Tea Partiers are largely about states' rights, so of course they view the Mass. plan as different from a federal plan. (Plus we now have evidence that the Mass. plan is going bankrupt. Fast.) But he dismisses that premise out of hand and immediately latches onto the racist argument as being perfectly logical....

Huh? An inability to magically avoid an unavoidable trade-off (in this case between openness and quality) does not mean that both cannot be goals.
Apple may regret the Flash decision for marketshare reasons, but I find it mystifying why everybody thinks it's some sort of human rights issue. It's no different than the decision to drop floppy drives, or FireWire.
